NEW COMPUTER SERVICE - IPADS FOR OLDIES - LAUNCHED BY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
INFORMATION technology specialist Andrew Bush, who runs iTab based in Ivybridge, Devon, is launching a new service aimed at the over-50s.
Andrew, who has many years of experience, believes advances in technology now make it much easier for people who might have missed out on the IT revolution to get into computers.
He is calling his new service ‘iPads for Oldies’.
Andrew, who is happy to teach groups as well as individuals, said: ‘The latest Apple iPads are relatively easy to operate and a great introduction to the world of computers. The iPad, a type of computer known as a tablet, is less daunting to use for newcomers than traditional desktop computers.
‘The screen is user friendly and I find my clients – the oldest of which is 94 - pick up the basics very quickly. The iPad can open up the world of email and the internet to those who might not have been confident with computers in the past.
‘This can include using services such as Skype to made video calls to family and friends who may live away, helping to reduce the distance they feel between each other.
‘If anyone would like to have an taster session on an iPad, I can be contacted on 01752 691257 or mobile 07976 311009. Once clients are connected to the worldwide web, they can keep in touch with me via my website at www.itab-mac.co.uk or follow me on Twitter @itabmac.
‘All the training is carried out in a relaxed fashion and everything is explained in plain English – I try to avoid jargon as far as I can.’
Andrew, 45, is accredited by Apple and operates across Devon and Cornwall offering IT expertise to businesses, individuals and charities.
